OK! Its official Marcelino Rosas is my favorite author. Seriously he is blessed with his writing talent. Like the first book which you must read - Afuera a young latino's journey. Fuerte a journey continued captured my attention till the very last page. It is truly beautifully written.

Its my opinion that a great book must touch you emotionally. Fuerte did that exactly. I was emotional, I was in tears. I was frustrated because why the hell couldn't Roberto find that true pure good love that he deserve. (FYI he did find his happy ending) There was some point I was shocked. How the hell does the main character end up with HIV "Fuck that's comes from unprotected sex" Than I was relieved oh............. Thank god that wasn't the case or was it. You will have to read the book to find out. I had a big boner cause I wish my sex life was as exciting as Roberto and don't get me started on the hot man he got down with. Marcelino wrote my fantasy's in this book. Damn.

What was so heart warming to me was how Roberto father and mother changed how they have accepted him for who he was. There is no greater feeling in the world knowing that friends and family are truly happy for you and that they support you in your life's journey. Life is very hard and difficult like a mother fucker..... but if you have a great support system you have everything.

"Our lives are made up of a series of moments. If you're lucky, you'll get to have hundreds and thousands of them" Some will be big moments, some will be small moments. I chose to believe that every moment is a life lesson a beautiful journey of discovering. 🌸

One thing that I have discovered was I am not good at all with keeping to my new years resolutions. The only resolution that I have achieved for this year was one of the biggest moments of my entire 28 years on this earth. Silly old me made the TOP 12 of the Mr. Gay South Africa competition👸  I know what you are thinking how the hell did he make it? Well I did!  So stop hating bitches OK!!!! 

The journey of discovering me has lead me to the biggest moment in my life. An emotional roller-coaster of ups and downs. A moment that would change my life forever. Apparently I am a hero a warrior with eleven others. What does that even mean I am asking myself?

Hero: a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities.

Warrior: to be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born a average man. We make ourselves into one or the other.

The Mr. Gay South Africa competition has truly delivered 12 amazing individuals 12 Heroes, 12 warriors all from different backgrounds all unique. 👑.   I am so fortunate to be in the company of these AMAZING guys.

I never knew I could really make such a big difference in the lives of so many young gay man. Especially young fem-gaylicious guys. What is that you may ask? Well It's a gay guy that is in touch with his inner female side, like me. By the way I am still gay and to answer the question why don't I do drag cause I am not man enough for Mr Gay South Africa? Simple I will make one ugly ass Drag Queen !!!!! Like Lady Gaga said don't be a drag just be Queen and that's what I am a Big Queen with a big heart. 

To all my fellow Queen darlings if you guys would like to enter Mr. Gay South Africa go for it its the most amazing epic journey that will change you for always. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for the support you showed me. 

Thinus, Jay, Chris, Huguette, Songezo I can't thank you enough for this opportunity that you gave me. I seriously didn't think I would make it. Thank you sooooooooo very much my life is changed forever.

I have always been a very big fan of the Sex and the City series, the Misadventures of Miss Carrie Bradshaw and her three fabulous friends.  I always wanted to watch a gay version of the hit TV show and then God answered my prayers. While browsing the internet one day I came across my new favorite web series called “HUNTING SEASON”. 

Being from South Africa the dream has always been and still is to life it up in the big Apple New York City as a fabulous gaylicious diva. Memo to myself work harder to reach that damn goal girlfriend. Anyway I totally fell head over heels in love with Alex character played by Ben Baur. I have sum him up as a Carrie Bradshaw with a little bit of Samantha Jones inside of him. He is a writer and loves sex with very hot guys that’s why in season one he has two hunks doing him lovely!!!!  There is Lenny played by Walker Hare, and there is hunkalicious Reese played by Tyler French who I still can believe in following me on Twitter sweet baby Jesus Mr Tyler Trench is Hot. (Behave Richard behave!) 

Tommy Played by Marc Sinoway he is an all out Samantha Jones and well say it like it is, he is fuckalicious hot damn I want myself a piece of Mr Sinoway. TJ played by the very talented Jake Manabat comes across has a Charlotte York. Last but not least there is Nick played by Jack Ferver he reminds me of Miranda hobbs but yet he still as a Charlotte York edge to him.  Hunting season is fun, lighthearted, romantic very enjoyable that chapters your attention from the opening scene of episode one to the very last scene of episode 8. I seriously can’t wait for season 2.

To me what makes a good series beside the great story line is the music of the series. I totally enjoyed every single song in the Hunting season the music in the show is what I would call feel good music and I take my hat off to whoever complied the soundtrack great work. 
(If you really wish hard enough and believe with all your heart your wishes will come true I wish there is a season 3 coming so that I can play I waiter or something so I can just be in this Fabulous Gaylicious TV series) 

If you haven’t watched it yet seriously make a plan it is soooooooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooddddddddddddddd. Trust me you will love every last bit of it go on visit their site follow the actors have fun darlings.

 Whats the story about? 

Growing up isn't easy, and no one knows that better than Roberto. Raw & Gritty, Afuera follows Roberto, a young Latino man who comes into his own by being everything his tradition & culture tells him not to be. He struggles to understand & attempts to hide, that which is in his heart. From the outside, he seems to have the perfect life, but in fact, it's all a lie. In a dramatic turn of events, it eventually all comes apart, but through sheer guts & determination, & his willingness to succeed, he triumphs over this darkness & starts a new life for himself. Both a coming out story of a young man's difficult relationship with an abusive father & a look at modern teenage life, from school to sports to sexual conquests, Afuera shows readers - young & old, of any race - that even if they have a dark side, even if they don't fit in the way society wants them to, they have goodness inside of them, & all they need to do is let it out.

My Review

Omg!!! After years and years of searching for this book cause I don't know why its not available in South Africa I finally got my hands on this precious gem of a book. Thank you !!! Loot.co.za then I waited for a month long for it to arrive from the USA. You can also buy the book from Amazon.com I literally teared up when I hold the book in my hands for the first time.

Where do I start. Afuera: A Young Latino's Journey was the best book I have ever read It took me just 5 hours to finish the book cause I couldn't put it down that's how good it was. It took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I swear Marcelino wrote this book based on me(OK fine not really but it felt that way the book really spoke to me). I could relate so much to Roberto the main character in the book. 

"Dedicated to the young gay teens everywhere who are struggling to find themselves. keep on fighting.Things do get better."  That's the opening lines to this powerful book instantly you don't feel alone you feel like hey! I am not alone there are other fabulous people just like myself. 

And then the warning "This is a disclaimer: if you are too young, or easily offended by gay sex or the discussion of it, you should probably stop reading now. Or if this is Mom, definitely stop reading now". 

Confession time: If there was a warning sign that said "DON'T" it triggered something in me that said what's the worst that can happen so I always did the apposite. Reading this book was the best thing that have ever happen in my natural born life. You may ask was it really that good or are you just pretending ? My answer to you is YES BITCHHHHHHHHHHH IT WAS THAT GOOD GET YOURSELF A COPY NOW ITS A MUST READ. 

It took me a life time to be precise 27 years to expect me for who I am and sometimes I still struggle to except and love myself, but like the book says in the beginning it gets better. As you go along into the book you clearly feel all the emotions Roberto is going through. The moment he realizes he is different that he likes guys it turns his world upside down. He prays to God to change him but then it hits him like lightning there is nothing wrong with him cause God cant make mistakes he is one of Gods master pieces and is perfect the way he is. 

In one of the chapter I was even very jealous as Roberto got to have a hot and steamy session with Aaron the soccer captain of his school. I so hate that Roberto Bitch !!!(just kidding). One more highlight in the book was when Roberto decided no more hiding, no more lies Kurt Cobain said it best: I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not. 

I can go on and on and on it is a beautiful heartfelt loving moving story. do yourself a big favor get the book read it I promise you that you wont be disappointed. 

Darlings the last word from me Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers you cannot be successful or happy. 

If we refuse to believe in ourselves, we simply refuse to live a great life. Success in life is determined greatly by the amount of value we are willing to place in our own thoughts, and our everyday actions. Once you are able to believe that life is important, and that the decisions you make daily do very much matter, you will notice a considerable change from the life you once lived. 

So effectively, we have a limitless life available to us if we really desire it. If we just live knowing that what we have already is enough. If we live a life believing that each move we make can be a step forward, no matter what comes our way, we will be champions in life! So love yourself, believe in yourself, and from this you will see success and happiness as a recurring theme in your life. Don't worry or stress, love life and be happy!

So... I am a hopeless romantic is that a crime ? I want to meet him at a karaoke bar where I sing off tune and he doesn’t care cause all he wants to do is to  get to know the whirl wind petite gay guy that takes his breath away.  I dream of the day he goes down on his one knee with thousand of red roses surrounding the venue asking me to spend the rest of my life with him! I deserve the white picket fence, the beautiful home, the loving husband and kid. Is that so wrong ? 

Apparently the answer is yes cause in the modern gay society we live in its all about sharing nudies having the occasional no strings attached one night stands. I ask you, what happened to the old school getting to know each other going on dates, the first date you need to constantly remind yourself to breath as you’re nervous as hell, will he like me, will it have the perfect happy ending to the first date with the kiss that makes your knees weak? 

The wonderful feeling you can’t explain when he calls the next morning just to tell you he really enjoyed your company and so the first date turns into the second the second date turns into the third and so a relationship starts to grow you are feeling a connection that starts to blossom into something called LOVE a foreign concept to many these days as we don’t want love we want lust, sex or so it seems.

I get it boys, we all want a bad boy but do we want the baggage that comes with them ? He is not over his ex-boyfriend or he has an angel for a lover who’s  so perfect that you hate him so much that you willing to be his bad bitch. HELLO Wakeup call he is using you,  taking advantage of your kindness and yet it’s still  fine cause you want to feel loved, is it really love? You know what’s the worst about this situation these days we’ve  accepted it,  it must be that way.   

We will sacrifice a diamond for a piece of trash. Let’s face it darlings what is more hotter than a guy with good manners that treats you with respect makes you feel like royalty open the door for you takes off his coat so you won’t get cold, who surprises you with the little things in life making you breakfast in bed leaving you a voice note reminding you not to work too hard and that he LOVES you there comes  that dreadful word again LOVE. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be loved and in return you share your love with him. 

I know what you’re thinking that true love nonsense only exists in movies reality check movies are based on real life events all of them, and at the end of every movie the moral of the story is love triumphs over evil always. And don’t be too hard on the evil villains they just got hurt badly and that broken heart never healed.

Lets recap instead of settling for just anything why not settle for everything you deserve to be happy, you deserved to be loved and treated like you matter you deserved to be swept away and so what if you are a hopeless romantic!  LOVE makes the world go round, Adam found his Eve but was actually in love with Steve gays can’t help it that they’re cute, Bonny met Clyde, Shrilly met Laverne, Superman and Loise Lane  and so I can go on and on and on.  So darlings there is nothing wrong with wanting true love as true love always prevail.
